Background Checks are required for all applications. As of July 24th, 2014, all applicants must undergo a criminal background check through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). To apply for Arizona Clearance Card go to DPS’s website at: https://www.azdps.gov/services/public/fingerprint
For those who have been denied a Clearance Card from the Department of Public Safety, an appeal can be made through the Board of Fingerprinting for a Good Cause Exception in many cases.
